Frequently asked questions
How tracking works, what the plans include, which airlines we cover, and how your data is handled.
Getting started
What does Air Savvy actually do?
You pick a specific flight. Air Savvy records today's fare as a baseline, re-checks that same itinerary daily, builds a price history, and emails you when the fare moves. It is a monitoring service — we do not sell tickets. See how flight price tracking works for the mechanics.
Do I need an account to try it?
No. You can set up a tracker and see a live fare without registering. Creating a free account is what saves your trackers between visits and turns on email updates.
How do I set a price target?
When creating a tracker, choose Target Price as the alert type and enter the figure you want to pay. Anchor it to your baseline rather than to a hope — roughly 10 to 15 percent below the starting fare is realistic on a competitive route. A target far below anything the route has ever seen will simply never fire.
Can I track round-trip flights?
Yes, and Air Savvy pins both legs. This matters more than it sounds: round-trip pricing depends on the pairing of the two flights, so a tracker that only pins the outbound can report your chosen departure paired with the cheapest available return — a fare for an itinerary you did not choose. See round trip vs one way.
How do I compare different dates or times?
Create a tracker for each option you are seriously considering. They run simultaneously and each keeps its own price history, so you can see which one is actually moving.
Alerts and checking
How often are prices checked?
Trackers are checked daily. Checking far more often mostly produces noise — fare buckets can empty at any hour, but a consistent daily sample is what makes a price history readable.
What alerts will I get?
Paid plans get alerts when the fare hits your target, and also when it rises significantly. Free accounts get a weekly email summarising where your tracked fares stand, rather than alerts as movements happen.
Why would I want to know the price went up?
Because it is often the more useful message. A drop invites you to consider buying; a sustained rise tells you cheap inventory is disappearing and the window is closing. Knowing that early is what stops you watching a fare climb for a month and booking at the top.
The alert price does not match what I see when I click through.
Fares move continuously, so a price recorded this morning can shift by the time you open the airline's site. Treat a tracked price as a strong signal to go and check rather than a locked quote. If the gap is large and persistent, let us know — that is worth investigating.
Coverage
Which airlines does Air Savvy cover?
Fare data comes from the sources that power flight metasearch, which covers the large majority of US and international carriers, including Delta, American, United, Alaska and JetBlue.
Why can I not find Southwest fares?
Southwest generally does not distribute fares through the aggregators that most search tools and trackers rely on. This is a genuine industry-wide blind spot rather than something specific to Air Savvy — you will need to check Southwest directly.
Can I track premium economy or business class?
Yes. Pick the cabin you would actually fly when you create the tracker. Tracking economy while intending to book premium economy produces a history you cannot act on. Note that "premium economy" as a separate cabin is largely a long-haul product — see fare classes explained.
Plans and billing
What does the free plan include?
Up to three trackers, full price history, and a weekly email update. It is ad-supported, which is what funds the fare lookups.
What do paid plans add?
More trackers and alerts that arrive when the fare actually moves rather than weekly. On a fare that dips for a day and recovers, that timing difference is the whole point.
How is billing handled?
Subscriptions are billed annually and renew automatically unless cancelled. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. You can cancel any time in Settings.
What is the refund policy?
A full refund is issued if you cancel within 7 days of your subscription start date. After that, access continues to the end of the billing period. Full terms are in the Terms & EULA.
Account and data
Will Air Savvy book the flight for me?
No. We link you to the airline or a booking site and you complete the purchase there. We never handle payment for a flight.
How do I delete a tracker?
Open your dashboard, find the tracker, and click the delete icon. You will get a confirmation email listing your remaining active trackers.
What happens to trackers for flights that already departed?
They move to a Past flights section and stop being priced. They do not count against your plan limit, so an old tracker will never block you from adding a new one.
Can I change my email or password?
Yes — both are in Settings, where you can also update your name or send yourself a password reset link.
How is my data handled?
Passwords are hashed with bcrypt and never stored in readable form. Card details are handled by Stripe and never reach our servers. We do not sell personal data. See the Terms & EULA for the full statement.
How do I stop the emails?
Email preferences are in Settings, and you can delete trackers or your account at any time.
